Medicine management - Drug Utilisation Evaluation (DUE)

Drug Utilisation Evaluation (DUE) is a medical management system for online, real-time adjudication of claims. This is based on clinical protocols adopted by each Scheme to ensure the rational use of medication, as well as the prevention of misuse, abuse and over-use in order to prevent additional administrative and medicine costs.

Clinical evaluation is performed across all claims received so that duplicate therapy and abuse can be identified, even if the member receives medication from different pharmacies.

This medical management systems empower the healthcare professional with a tool to:

  • Contribute to appropriate and rational drug use
  • Eradicate over-use, abuse and fraudulent practice
