Johannesburg, 4 November 2022 – AfroCentric Group is pleased to announce that its Group Chairman, Dr Anna Mokgokong, is recipient of the International Women’s Forum’s (IWF’s) “Women Who Make a Difference Award” for the year 2022.

The award celebrates the tremendous accomplishments and contributions that IWF members make in their communities and the world. The South African chapter of the IWF, under the leadership of patron and founder Dr Zanele Mbeki and the incumbent president, Ms Irene Charnley, nominated Dr Mokgokong for this year’s award, which was bestowed on her at a gala event in Las Vegas, US at the IWF World Leadership Conference on Thursday night.

That Dr Mokgokong was named a recipient of the award is testament to her philanthropic work and activism in the boardroom, where she advocates for the development and promotion of women in leadership.

Indeed, the very existence of the AfroCentric Group – which was founded on the core philosophy of promoting transformation and empowerment – demonstrates her passion for uplifting not only women, but also disadvantaged communities. Today, as a result of this commitment the Group is singularly focused on enhancing the quality of life by transforming healthcare.

Said AfroCentric Group CEO Ahmed Banderker: “We are immensely proud and delighted that our Dr Mokgokong has been recognised for her achievements. Her contribution to the AfroCentric Group is just one example of those achievements. As a medical doctor who merged her passion for saving lives with that of growing sustainable businesses, Dr Mokgokong has provided strong guidance and advice towards the AfroCentric Group’s intent to enable access to affordable healthcare. This is also reflected in many of our inroads in the healthcare industry.”

The International Women’s Forum is a global organisation whose members are pre-eminent women of significance and diverse achievements. It unites an unprecedented global membership of women leaders across national and international boundaries.
